Materials Needed

• Yarn: A 50g pack of yarn from Teemu (100% acrylic, very soft, and ideal for this project). One pack yields one hat when double-stranded.
• Hook: 6 mm hook.

Steps

Top of the Hat

1. Magic Circle:
   • Use a magic circle to start or chain 4 and join to form a circle.
   • Pull up on the loop slightly to start the first puff stitch.
2. Puff Stitch:
   • Pull up on the loop to about half an inch.
   • Yarn over, insert the hook into the magic circle, yarn over and pull up a loop three times.
   • You should have several loops on your hook (depends if doubled-stranded).
   • Yarn over and pull through all loops, chain one.
   • Repeat to make 6 puff stitches in the circle.
3. Round 2:
   • Slip stitch in the space between puff stitches, chain one, and pull up a loop.
   • Work 2 puff stitches in each stitch around to double the stitch count (12 puff stitches).
4. Round 3:
